Hindu Gods Who Associated with Marijuana for Meditation Purpose

Many scholars believe that Hinduism formally started in between 1500 BC and 2300 BC near Indus Valley. Hinduism has no founder; they believe that it developed by Brahminism, Hinduism doesn’t have any prophets. Hinduism is not a Single Religion it is the practices of a variety of different religious groups which come out of India. In Hinduism there is significance of meditate, Om is main symbol of Hinduism, it is the sound heard or chanting while meditation it believe that give peace to your mind, body, and soul. In ancient time yogis (those dedicated to Yoga practice)  believe that chanted Om help them to connect to their soul they also believed that it is present in all of us and only reveal while you chanting Om while meditation. In Hinduism there have lots of number of gods around 33 Million but main three gods who consider as making this universe are Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva; Brahma is the creator of the universe while Vishnu is the preserver of it and Vishnu destroy the universe in order to re-create it.

Marijuana which known as bhang in India, due to certain Hindu rituals Government-owned shops in holy cities like Varanasi sells bhang, in Vedas there are many benefits of marijuana leaves along with 4 others essential plants; marijuana is consider as a sacred plant and a source of liberation, happiness and compassion in Vedic scriptures. It believes that Shiva is one of the Hindu gods who smoke marijuana before meditation to enable him to relax and focus. There are many mythologies stories that explain that Shiva consume marijuana; during Holi (Hindu festival which also known as festival of colours) and Maha Shivratri (Maha Shivaratri is a Hindu festival which celebration because on that day Shiva and Parvati's marriage to each other) people consumed marijuana (bhang) and in maha shivratri people smoke eat marijuana and also burn in bonfire in order to follow religious ritual. It always believe that Shive consumed bhang because he always in deep meditation and it believe that bhang help him to stay in a state of complete bliss and concentrate, you can also see sadhus and monks consumed bhang in order to gain concentrate, so that why in Maha Shivratri people consume marihuana in form of drink, this drink known as bhang which made from milk, cannabis flowers and leaves, spices and yoghurt.

Not only Shiva intake edible cannabis but also associated with female goodness Ganga's sister, there are several stories which tell that bhang is also related with Ganga, it believe that marijuana or bhang in sisters and some believe that marijuana another form of Parvati (Shiva wife) that why marijuana keep resides with Shiva. Bhang also known as soma rasa which consume by Hindu gods in heaven. In Vedas it mention that cannabis is create while god and demon churned (samudra manthan when the ocean was churned a drop of the nectar fell on Mount Madra and that how cannabis plant grow and Shiva brought the cannabis down from the Himalayas mankind sake. Marijuana is legal to take in Holi and Maha Shivratri due to religious ritual; bhang is illegal in India by only govt. authorized shops can sell Bhang. There is some states which legalise marijuana such as - Uttarakhand legalized the cultivation of cannabis for industrial purposes in November 2015, Odisha, cannabis consumption is legal, and it is common to see people smoking chillums and in Assam bhang has been legal in 2015.

But in recent time marijuana is illegal in many countries include India except some states; The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Bill was pass on 16 September 1985 and came into force on 14 November 1985. But still around 13.5 million people smoke marijuana and if you caught consuming marijuana as it is a criminal offense, so it is important that don’t get caught smoke marijuana, so before consuming it you must know how to pass drug test so get aware about the same.
